Wow! The 10th of this month really snuck up on me after a pretty tough last couple of weeks. The good news is–it’s Spring! And along with Spring comes new life. New growth from the earth with so many bright colors, and new life in our home – with our new puppy, Bella.
I was in my hometown, Los Angeles, for a short time and an old high school friend introduced me to a hiking trail that was only a couple of miles from where I grew up. Spring brought the vibrant green life to the hills with those gorgeous yellow mustard flowers everywhere! Laurie and I arrived to gloomy gray skies, but after about 30 minutes of hiking these colorful trails, the sun broke through and scattered the light better than anyone could have painted it. I didn’t bring my big camera, but my trusty iPhone 6 delivered again. Here are some shots from that day….
As the sun set, the sky changed colors and it was different in every direction you’d look.
I had fun editing the image below using Mextures.
And off the trail, near my Mom’s home, the cherry blossoms (I think they’re cherry blossoms) couldn’t be missed.
Back home in San Diego, even the sunset skies had their own touch of Spring.
And Spring flowers (lisianthus and lilac) filled our home with a beautiful fragrance on Easter Day.
This is a little bit of Bella. She loves the park, where she can stop and smell (or eat) the flowers. She’s a great reminder of the importance in rest and play and she is the biggest gift of life for us this Spring. We adore our sweet, gentle, loving Bella.
Please follow around our wonderful 10 on 10 blog circle of talented photographers, starting with Micah.
Enjoy these beautiful days of Spring and remember to frolic in the flowers!

You truly are an example of it is not the camera that takes great photos it’s the eye behind the camera. I think my favorite is the third image but it is hard to choose. These are all so lovely. And Bella is a lucky pooch to have found you. I
